Jon Jones And Daniel Cormier Get Heated (Video), CM Punk's New Trainer On How He'll Fare In MMA
- UFC 182's headliners Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier had to be physically separated during a UFC media day used to promote the card. Dana White had to intervene in fear that another press-conference brawl would break out. You can see video of the confrontation above.
Daniel Cormier said this week that he would fight Jones at weigh-ins if necessary. Wrestling Inc will have full live coverage of UFC 182 Saturday night.
- It was announced recently that CM Punk would begin training with Duke Roufus of Roufusport in preparation for his MMA debut. Roufus spoke to MMA Fighting about the challenge of training Punk and wanting to prove detractors wrong:
"What made Phil successful in the WWE is going to make him do well in this as well," Roufus said. "Wrestling is not an easy gig. They do 300 dates a year. Especially when you're not a star. It's not the stuff that people do when they're a star that makes them special; it's what they do when they're not a star, the stuff you find out about them. Phil became a star and had to do those things, but he worked really hard on the indie circuit on his way up through the WWE ranks," said Roufus.
Roufus has trained the likes of UFC Champion Anthony "Showtime" Pettis, ONE FC Champion Ben Askren, as well as Erik Koch, Sergio Pettis and countless other.
