Super Bowl Bound Team Retweets Daniel Bryan, Bryan And The Bellas, More On SummerSlam Move

- As noted earlier, the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority board officially approved a plan last week that would "temporarily" close down the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ, which was the site for the 2015 edition of SummerSlam. The arena had been losing in excess of $7 million per year and will shut down for at least two years.

NJ.com has an update on the arena closing, and noted that some events through March will still take place at the venue. Jim Kirkos, CEO of the Meadowlands Regional Chamber of Commerce, said that the nearby Meadowlands Hilton had blocked off 1,000 rooms for SummerSlam and could lose up to $250,000 in revenue. Wayne Hasenbalg, president and chief executive officer of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, admitted that losing SummerSlam "was a big one," and that he is working to get the show moved to the Prudential Center in Newark.

WWE has yet to officially announce where SummerSlam will be held this year. WWE released a statement last week noting that the company "is currently looking at alternatives," and is confident that they will find "an equivalent, if not better, option for Summerslam." WWE also has a live event scheduled at the Izod Center this Saturday.

- Daniel Bryan and The Bella Twins will be appearing at the Wizard World Portland Comic Con this Saturday at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon. Bryan will be signing autographs and posing for photos from 11:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. He will also participate in a Q&A session at 1:30 p.m. You can get more details by clicking here.
