TNA Impact Wrestling Results: Four-Way Title Match, Knockouts Triple Threat, Monster's Ball
Welcome to WrestlingINC.com's live coverage and results for TNA Impact Wrestling. Tonight's show was taped a few weeks ago.
Please spread word of our viewing party and complete results via Facebook and Twitter.
We relive the grandeur of last week's big show and then go inside the venue to see what TNA has up its proverbial sleeve this week. Bobby Roode is first out and he's still carrying the TNA Heavyweight Title. He takes to the mic and says the championship means more to him than anything else. Roode also reminds us how thoroughly screwed he was in his last title match, courtesy of one Eric freakin' Young. Roode calls Lashley out from the back to settle things. Maybe they can just hug it out.
The guys get face to face and Roode says it's time for a rematch. Lashley agrees. Huzzah! The Austin Aries hits the ramp. He has his Feast or Fired case and says that New York City is a great place for a title match?with him in it. Then MVP saunters out. He has a lot to say, as one might expect. Turns out MVP wants a shot at the belt, too. Who knew?
Lashley responds to all of the attention by saying he'll just fight them all. Now THAT's a fighting champion!
After a break, Kurt Angle says he's lining up a team to take on the Beat Down Clan at next week's Lethal Lockdown match. He'll pick his guys tonight. Let's go back to the ring.
Knockouts Championship Match: Madison Rayne vs. Gail Kim vs. Taryn Terrell
Gail and Madison get into it first and Gail gets all over Rayne. Terrell sneaks up on Kim and tries for a roll up but it doesn't happen. Kim gets control until Madison grabs her from outside and plants Gail's head into the ring apron. She squares off with Terrell next and they trade near-falls. Madson slaps a headlock/sleeper on Taryn and then plants her on the mat for a cover but the champ kicks out. Rayne keeps trying but can't keep Taryn down for a full three-count. Kim sneaks in and Madsion takes both competitors out with a simultaneous diamond cutter & DDT. You have to see that one. A few moments later, Gail is back in it and puts Madison into a submission. Terrell puts Gail in a submission as Kim holds on to Rayne. After a scrum, Rayne manages to dump her opponents outside and takes out both of them again on both of them separately while brawling out on the floor. Terrell slows Rayne down and rolls her back in the ring. She tries for a cover and Madison escapes. Kim comes in and after a fast flurry of near-falls are exchanged, Terrell hits a neckbreaker on Madison Rayne and covers her for the win.
Result: Taryn Terrell retains the KO championship via pinfall.
Following a commercial break, we get a gander at Rockstar Spud talking strategy with Mark Andrews out on the streets of New York.
Inside the venue, Tommy Dreamer calls out Eric Young for a chat. Young gets in Tommy's face right off the bat and tells Tommy to stay out of his business. Dreamer tries to calm him down by recalling some fond memories but Young isn't having it. Then Young calls Tommy "fat" and says he doesn't want to burn the bridge; he wants to blow it up. After some more talk, Young moves to the action phase and beats down Tommy. Roode flies in to break it up but Young bounces Tommy face-first off the barricade before he gets out of Dodge.
The Hardys talk about their quest to win the tag straps again and then we see Magnus trying to make nice with Bram at a tavern. Then we have commercial sign.
Back on the show, Kurt Angle cozies up to Gunner backstage. Gunner officially enlists in Team Angle.
At the tavern, Magnus pleads his case to Bram. He thinks they'd make a great team. Bram agrees but then knocks the holy bejeezus out of his best mate outside of the bar. Looks like a feud is a-brewin'.
And?okay, looks like the Monster's Ball match is joined in progress in the bowels of the Manhattan Center. Once they make it into the actual venue proper, the bell sounds.
Monster's Ball match: Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss
The guys make it to ringside and trade blows. Hardy gains control and stomps Abyss on the ring steps. Abyss tries to set Hardy up for a chokeslam on to a table but Jeff slips out. The Monster chucks a trash can and other hardware into the ring. He places a chair in the corner and then turns around for a face full of trashcan, courtesy of Hardy. Jeff covers for the pin but Abyss kicks out. Back on their feet, the guys battle back and forth. Jeff lands a modified twist of fate and when Abyss heads outside, Jeff tries to hit him with a dive. Abyss dodges and Jeff goes through the table by himself. D'oh! Abyss teases some thumbtack action and Hardy stops it from happening. He ends up with Janice in hand as hardy struggles to his feet. Abyss misses with Janice and gets her stuck in the turnbuckle, allowing Jeff the chance to hit a twist of fate. The entire Revolution pours into the ring and Matt Hardy comes to the rescue with a kendo stick. Sanada and Manik grab a hold of Matt and Storm lands the Last Call superkick to put him down. The Wolves enter the fray and take out the Revolution with a double suicide dive. Meanwhile, Abyss releases the thumbtacks all over the ring. He gets Jeff in position for a superplex on to the tacks but Hardy counters, tossing Abyss into the tacks. He hits a senton and covers for the win. Crazy match.
Result: Jeff Hardy defeats Abyss via pinfall.
Commercials roll and then Jeff and Matt talk about how they're ready to take on The Revolution by land, air and see.
Rockstar Spud and Mark Andrews make it out to the ring and they're psyched for a match against EC3 and Tyrus. EC3 comes out and says their request for a match is DEEE-NIED! And then he books them into a fight with the BroMans
Rockstar Spud and Mark Andrews vs. The BroMans
Mandrews fares poorly against the BroMans who keep the new guy in check for a protracted stretch. Spud tags in and gets the jump on Robbie E. He somehow grabs both BroMans by their crown jewels and avoids a DQ. Andrews tags in and lands a beautiful shooting star press to put away Robbie and get the win.
Result: Rockstar Spud and Mark Andrews defeat the Bromans via pinfall.
Post-match, Tyrus annihilates Spud and Mandrews. EC3 says they'll have to face Tyrus at Lockdown.
In the booth, Taz and Matthews run down the card for Lockdown. Lots of talking on this episode. And then, the main event is within sight?
TNA Heavyweight Title Match: MVP vs. Bobby Roode vs. Austin Aries vs. Lashley
After the bell, Lashley lumbers towards MVP who promptly bails out. He comes back in and tries to land a punch but Lashley powers him into the corner and pummels his former BFF. Aries and Roode keep a low profile until Roode kicks Aries out of the way and tells Lashley it's time to rumble. They go at it and Lashley puts Roode on the ropes quickly. Roode slows his roll with a well-timed elbow and Aries gets back into it with a missile dropkick on Roode. MVP gets some kicks in on Roode as well. Roode puts a sop to it by delivering a spinebuster to MVP. Break time.
Back on the show, Aries gets control of things until he lands outside. MVP and Roode slug it out inside and the BDC Boss plants Roode hard for a near-fall. Roode battles back but MVP stays in it. Aries tries to take out MVP with a submission until Lashley scoops him up and throws him outside. MVP takes out Lashley's legs but Aries gets involved and puts MVP out of action for the moment. Roode puts Lashley and Aries on the canvas with a "tower of power" slam and looks to have things in hand but Eric Young makes an appearance and attacks Roode, taking him out of the fight. Aries gets in offense against both Lashley and MVP but the end comes when Lashley lands a perfect spear on Aries and covers him for the pinfall.
Result: Lashley retains the TNA Heavyweight Championship
Post-match, the BDC files out to pick apart Lashley. Angle and Gunner make the save as Taz and Matthews point out that Kurt still needs some more guys for his team at Lockdown.
After a commercial, Roode says he'll make Eric Young bleed at Lockdown. Aries enlists in Team Angle and Kurt Angle extends an invitation for Lashley to join as well but the champ declines.
