Daniel Bryan Talks Fan Response To Roman Reigns, Being Cleared The Day Before His Return Match

Daniel Bryan was interviewed on the latest edition of Turnbuckle Weekly with Chuck Carroll to promote Sunday's WWE Fastlane pay-per-view. During the interview, Bryan noted that he wasn't officially cleared before he announced he would be an entrant in the Royal Rumble. At the time of the announcement, he was about 90 percent sure certain that everything would work out.

"I actually legitimately got cleared the day before my first match back [on SmackDown]," he said.

Bryan also talked about the fans booing Roman Reigns after he won The Royal Rumble. Bryan said that he and Reigns haven't spoken about the fan's reaction, but he offered his take on the crowd.

"I think a lot of people (blamed) it on the Royal Rumble being in Philadelphia this year but that's not entirely true," Bryan said. "What happens is a lot of people fly in to see the Royal Rumble. It's one of the top pay-per-views of the year. It's the start of WrestleMania season."

He said the WWE Universe warmed up to Reigns on subsequent shows where he received a much warmer reception.

"In different places people are going to react differently. In certain places I might get booed more than Roman," he said.

Bryan also talked about when WWE realized he'd be coming back, his neck and arm strength after being back for a month, what he did to knock off rust before getting back in the ring, the difference between last year's organic title push and this year's storylines and more.
