Frank Mir On A Third Fight Against Brock Lesnar, CM Punk Doing MMA, Possible Pro Wrestling Career
Chad Dukes of CBS Radio Washington DC 106.7 The Fan and ChadDukesWrestling.com recently spoke with former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir to promote Sunday's UFC Fight Night 61 event. The full interview is at this link but here are a few highlights:
A possible pro wrestling career:
"It's something I find extremely entertaining, that's actually not a bad idea."
A potential third fight against Brock Lesnar:
"I think it's a great opportunity to finish off a trilogy, to go out and in the third fight get the win. Absolutely, if it becomes an opportunity where I can actually take it seriously and it's presented to me I'm all for it. If it doesn't and he doesn't come back to our sport I'm not going to lose any sleep over it."
CM Punk doing MMA:
"I've talked to guys and they get frustrated, 'Why's this guy getting all this attention? I've fought twenty times.' And I've told them, 'Hey, one when people watch our sport we're promoting it, which is a good thing for everybody.' I look at guys, you enjoy making a living as a martial artist, it's one of the greatest things. To find something you love that you can get paid for, you've made it in life. So for us to get paid to be marital artists, we can go to the gym and train, hang out, and live this lifestyle, we have to have eyes on us. The sport has to be entertaining, it has to make money. CM Punk brings that. There's gonna be fans watching. If anything instead of being upset, I think I'd be that guy struggling to get that fight with him to be on the opposite side of the cage."
