Several Fighters Miss Weight For UFN 60, Paige VanZant Gets Major Sponsor, Cyborg Drug Tested
- Breakout crossover female fighter Paige VanZant scored a major sponsorship deal with Reebok this week. VanZant's sponsorship has come under scrutiny, as many feel as if she got it due to her looks as opposed to ability.
UFC President Dana White said that she got it because of her "it" factor. There's certainly evidence to back that notion up, as VanZant had over 100,000 Google searches the Monday following her first UFC bout, which was buried on Fight Pass.
- Cris "Cyborg" Justino was drug tested Thursday morning as a condition to be licensed in California for her Invicta 11 bout with Charmaine Tweet. Cyborg failed a test in 2011 in which landed her a one year suspension.
- UFC Fight Night 60 takes place tomorrow night from Denver, Colorado, but the weigh-ins saw plenty of drama as several fighters failed to make weight on their first attempts. Patrick Walsh, Chris Kelades and James Montasri all missed weight, with Kelades coming back later and making the mark.
