Conor McGregor Steals Jose Aldo's Title, Big Light Heavyweight Bout, Kimbo & Shamrock Getting Tested
- UFC Featherweight Title Challenger Conor McGregor caused a stir Tuesday during the last leg of the UFC 189 World Tour. McGregor, Champion Jose Aldo and UFC President Dana White had been touring several continents to promote the event.
In McGregor's home country of Ireland, the challenger got a little overzealous and snatched Jose Aldo's championship title out from in front of him. The crowd erupted as McGregor hoisted the championship over his head.
The two will square off in July at UFC 189. You can see video of the encounter above.
- A big UFC Light Heavyweight fight has been added to the company's return to Germany on June 20. #2-ranked Alexander Gustafsson will be takings on #6-ranked Glover Teixeira in the main event of UFC Fight Night 69.
Both men look to get back on track following losses, as well as try to climb back in the title hunt. Gustafsson had his championship re-match hopes dashed earlier this year when he was knocked out by Anthony "Rumble" Johnson.
- Bellator MMA's Ken Shamrock and Kimbo Slice will have to pass random, out-of-competition drug tests in order to fight this summer, according to MMA Fighting.
The two will be forced to undergo testing and medical clearance ahead of their June 20 bout at Bellator 138. The Missouri Office of Athletics didn't give details on the matter but did confirm testing for the two.
