Dean Ambrose On Taking Storylines To Vince, Fame As A Wrestler, His WrestleMania Spot, More

Dean Ambrose was a guest on 107.9 The End this week to talk about his upcoming Intercontinental Title match at WrestleMania. He also spoke about his character and several other subjects. Highlights of the interview are below:

* Ambrose says he doesn't want to portray a character that doesn't reflect him. He says that if people don't like how his character goes, he can't help them out because he just wants to be himself.

* He says that after a week in developmental, nobody messed with him any more, including the trainers. He said that his way of doing things impressed Dr. Tom Prichard out of the gate.

* Ambrose sold popcorn and put together the ring before moving on to wrestling.

* He talks about how important learning the basics of wrestling is and was to his career.

* Ambrose doesn't look at things like he's famous, he just considers himself well known in his field. He pointed at John Cena as being famous. He says if he's at a wrestling event, he's a big deal. If he's at a 7-11, nobody knows he is and he likes it. He says he gets the best of both worlds out of the situation.

* Ambrose doesn't want to be as famous as Tom Cruise, because he wants to be able to still live his life.

* He won't reveal stories he'd like to explore because he doesn't want to give them away.

* Ambrose says he usually goes straight to Vince McMahon when he needs something. He says that's the last thing a lot of people do because they're scared. Ambrose says he's found that if you don't, your story can get twisted by the time it gets to him. He says a lot of people change their tune about storylines when Vince likes it.

* Dean Ambrose says that there's no better place for them to be in this ladder match. If it were him in a one on one match, he fears it would have been made expendable, and now it's an important part of the show.

* Dean Ambrose expands on the expendable comment, saying that Monday they could be promised 18 minutes, then by the day of the show, could end up only having 4 minutes. He doesn't worry about that being in the ladder match.

* Ambrose puts over the danger of being in a ladder match, talking about how they've turned into stunt shows. He's went back and watched back ladder matches to prepare.

* Ambrose doesn't want to do something stupid just to get a reaction, he wants to make things fit in the match and make sense. He says regardless, it's going to steal the show.

* The host compares Ambrose's character to the real-life Joker, a guy you want to hang out with but you're scared of. Ambrose says he gets it a lot and has accepted it.

* Ambrose doesn't want to be portrayed as crazy, but the Lunatic Fringe nickname has grown on him. He says that it came from a Cincinnati rock station (WEBN 102.7) that he grew up listening to. Their tagline is "The Lunatic Fringe of American FM."

* He says there's a lot he had to learn about entrances, and ad buffers and commercials and things he didn't know about when he started with WWE.

* Ambrose says he lets his actual mood dictate how he comes to the ring, that way he doesn't have to force it.

* Ambrose says that this ladder match is another day at the office, because he's done much crazier things for far less money in wrestling.

* Ambrose said he never thought he'd make this type of money without having to go through a pane of glass or barbed wire.
