AAA wrestler Pedro Aguayo Ramírez, who wrestles as El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, died early this morning after a mishap in a match with Rey Mysterio at a show in Tijuana, Mexico last night.

News reports indicate that El Hijo took the initial move before the 619 in the trachea and experienced whiplash. Video of the entire match and the aftermath is above. The sequence that apparently led to El Hijo’s fatal injury begins around the 6:20 mark. El Hijo takes a dropkick from Rey to set up the 619, and then slumps on to the ropes.

El Universal reports that Konnan tried to revive Ramírez to no avail. He was later transported to a nearby hospital. Newspaper reports that El Hijo died around 1:00 AM local time.
