How Did WWE FastLane Do On Pay-Per-View?
WWE's corporate website posted information under their "key performance indicators" this weekend that revealed WWE FastLane's pay-per-view purchases.
The show did 27,000 buys domestically, with another 16,000 overseas for an estimated total of 43,000. The number was decreased significantly due to the over 1 million subscriptions to the WWE Network.
Last year's February pay-per-view, Elimination Chamber, did 165,000 buys. It wasn't offered on the WWE Network, as the service started with 2014's WrestleMania. Due to this, it wasn't subjected to the same PPV cannibalization as this year's FastLane show.
It's also worth noting that several pay-per-view providers have dropped WWE's programming, including the likes of DirecTV and Dish Network. WWE's pay-per-view numbers have seen a steep decline since the introduction of the WWE Network, something the company had expected.
