Ronda Rousey On Why Her Next Fight Won't End Quickly
UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey has been making the media rounds to promote her several projects, including her upcoming book My Fight/Your Fight. She appeared on Podcast One's Piper's Pit this week and also discussed her upcoming fight with Bethe Correia at UFC 190 in August.
'First of all, the kind of beating Bethe is going to get in Brazil is nothing compared to anything anyone can make up in the meantime. I can promise you this fight is not going to be short," Rousey said. "This needs to be like Miesha (Tate) 2. She needs to be punished before she gets finished. I don't want her walking out of there looking the same way she did walking in."
Rousey pointed at the feud between Correia and her Four Horsewomen stablemates, Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler as the motivation behind her angst towards the challenger. Rousey felt disrespected when Correia mocked the Four Horsewomen moniker after defeating Duke and Baszler.
Rousey also noted that Corriea said that she would "knock the mole off of her face," which was motivation for her to sustain a beating at UFC 190. Rousey's last two fights ended in 16 and 14 seconds respectively. Over the past year, she's spent a grand total of a half-minute in the cage.
In addition to her upcoming book, Rousey is in the box office smash Furious 7, and will make an appearance in the Entourage film later this Summer. You can listen to the full interview over at Podcast One.
