USA Network President Talks Adding SmackDown, WWE Diva Making Video Game Debut, WWE In Springfield
- Rosa Mendes recently noted on her Twitter that she will be making her WWE video game debut in WWE 2K16, which releases later this year.
- WWE will be returning to the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, Illinois for a live event on Friday, June 12th. Tickets go on sale next Saturday, April 17th, at 10am.
- As noted earlier, WWE SmackDown will be moving to the USA Network next year. Variety interviewed USA Network President Chris McCumber, who discussed adding SmackDown to the channel.
"WWE is such an iconic American brand, it feels thematically right to have their two biggest properties on USA Network," McCumber said. "Having more live programing is a good thing for this network. Having SmackDown and doubling down on WWE is important to us. Partnering with NBC Sports Group to bring Stanley Cup playoff hockey to USA is important move for us. You'll likely see over the next year more announcements about live sports on USA.
