Billy Corgan Talks Joining TNA, What They Need To Do, Using More Advanced Storylines, More
Smashing Pumpkins frontman and TNA creative team member Billy Corgan spoke to the Associated Press recently about his choice to join TNA, as well as how they can improve. Here are the highlights:
Why he joined TNA:
"I'm not here as celebrity. I'm here as a skilled person that brings a lot of experience to the table? I don't need fame. I have plenty of fame. It's really about the talent."
Having identifiable TNA stars:
"We need stars that are wholly identified with TNA only, and maybe telling the types of stories that maybe have a different edge to them so that people will identify them as TNA-type stories."
TNA needing to utilize social media:
"If something gets hot and on a roll, people will talk. We have to build a vehicle that will continually provide that opportunity and take advantage of the social media atmosphere. We will win the day if we're able to move quickly and in a way nobody's ever tried in the wrestling business."
Wanting more advanced story lines:
"If something gets hot and on a roll, people will talk. The biggest mistake you can make in entertainment is to think you're audience isn't sophisticated."
