Former UFC Fighter Corey Hill Dead At 36

Former UFC fighter Corey Hill passed away yesterday at the age of 36 at a hospital in Tampa, FL. According to MMA Junkie, Hill died after suffering a collapsed lung and a heart attack.

"He was without oxygen for a period of time, and of course, with the lack of oxygen does come damage to the brain," Hill's manager, Patrick Reynolds, told MMA Junkie. "But he is for the most part non-responsive. It's just unfortunate."

Several outlets reported that Hill had passed away on Thursday, with the UFC releasing a statement on Hill's death. Hill's wife, Lauran, denied the reports to TMZ stating that he was "resting" and was still alive, but asked for everyone to pray for him.

Hill is perhaps best remembered for appearing on season five of The Ultimate Fighter. He suffered a gruesome leg break in his last UFC fight in 2008, which kept him out of action for over a year. He last fought this past February, losing via TKO to Jose Caceres at Fight Time 23 "Mayhem in Miami."

Hill is survived by his wife Lauran, daughter Seytia and sons Keynan and Corey.
