King Cuerno Talks About AAA Lucha Libre World Cup, Rey Mysterio, Alberto El Patron, Former Sin Cara

This weekend's AAA Lucha Libre World Cup looks to bring together several nations and promotions in an effort to determine the ultimate trios. The tournament features the likes of Alberto El Patron, Rey Mysterio, Drew Galloway, King Cuerno, Moose, Mr. Anderson, Johnny Mundo, Kenzo Suzuki and tons of other names.

I had the chance to spoke to El Hijo del Fantasma, who performs for Lucha Underground as King Cuerno. He spoke about the stacked show, as well as what it would mean to him to win the World Cup, representing Mexico. He pointed out the stacked team of Rey Mysterio, Alberto El Patron and Myzteziz (the former Sin Cara) were the heavy favorites to win.

"I think they're great athletes. They're natural favorites to win the world cup because of who they are and their exposure. But the rest of the teams have a really good shot at winning. I think it will be very interesting for everyone to watch the Lucha Libre World Cup this Sunday from AAA," Cuerno said.

Cuerno joins Pyscho Clown and Lucha Underground's Texano Jr in representing Mexico in the tournament. The show also features talent from All Japan Pro Wrestling, TNA, Ring of Honor, Global Force Wrestling, NOAH, among others. Cuerno told me that winning the tournament on behalf of his country would be a career highlight.

"It would be amazing (to win)," he explained. "It would represent a very big event in my career. If I were to win the Lucha Libre World Cup with my teammates, that would put us in a different league."
