Report: Hideo Itami Possibly Injured, Facing Lengthy Absence

According to a report by PWInsider, NXT star Hideo Itami sustained a shoulder injury, and could be out of action between 6-8 months.

Itami is currently slated to take on Tyler Breeze and Finn Balor in a number-one contender's bout at the upcoming NXT Takeover show. Itami has only worked once since the April 22 NXT tapings. It's unknown how WWE will handle the injury with several weeks of NXT TV already filmed.

Wrestling Inc is still looking to independently verify the reports.

The injury bug has started to affect the top of the NXT card, as former NXT Champion Sami Zayn also aggravated a shoulder injury prior to his match with John Cena on Raw. Zayn underwent and MRI Tuesday, but the results have not been released.
