UFC Fighter Rips Company, Josh Barnett Wins Grappling Heavyweight Title, UFC Fighter Wrestles
- UFC Lightweight Al Iaquinta made his professional wrestling debut of sorts recently. Iaquinta performed with a few wrestlers at a neighborhood birthday party late last month. You can see a video of the event above.
- Josh Barnett continued his dominant run in grappling promotion Metamoris this weekend. He submitted Ryron Gracie with a toehold (commonly referred to as an ankle lock in professional wrestling) to win the company's heavyweight championship. Gracie was a late replacement for Cyborg Abreu.
Other familiar names on the show included Chael Sonnen, who went to a draw with Renato "Babalu" Sobral, after not being able to pass Sobral's guard. UFC Fighter Joe Lauzon was submitted by black belt Dillon Danis on the show as well.
- UFC Fighters continue to sound off regarding the upcoming Reebok deal, which stands to cost a large portion of fighters a great deal of money. Light Heavyweight Ryan Jimmo was very outspoken about the deal last week on MMA Fight Radio.
"UFC, if you want to fire me, go ahead. You are not paying me very well anyway," Jimmo said. Jimmo has fought for the promotion since 2012, going an even 3-3 during his run.
