From Harvey Mayo:

I attended the WWE Live Event in Manchester, NH tonight at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The building was probably about 60% full and the crowd was not super hot overall. Tony Chimmel was the host/announcer for the evening.

The opening match saw Neville defeat Wade Barrett with the Red Arrow. Barrett cut a promo on the crowd and actually used his "I've got some bad news" catchphrase. Crowd really seemed to be into Neville.

Luke Harper defeated Zach Ryder with the discuss clothesline. Erik Rowan accompanied Harper to thing and interfered throughout the match. Harper really seemed to be trying to work the crowd with lots of posing and looking for approval after every move. Rowan beat down Ryder after the match and then the two hit 3D on Long Island Ice Z. The crowd chanted "one more time" as Harper and Rowan began to exit. They started to get back in the ring but hopped back out and left much to the dismay of the fans.

The Prime Time Players beat Bo Dallas and Heath Slater when Darren Young rolled up Dallas for the win. Titus barely got in this match. Dallas and Slater argued throughout and after the match. Bo Dallas said he quit the team and left. Slater said he didn't need a tag partner and challenged anybody from the back to a singles match.

Axelmania defeated Heath Slater in a 3 minute squash match. Axel did all of the Hogan routines including the big leg drop for the win. No Sandow even though he was advertised locally.

Dean Ambrose beat Kane with Dirty Deeds in a really good match. Lots of fans were chanting "please retire" to Kane but I have to say, Kane still works a solid match and got great heat. A good 15 minute match where both guys hit all of their regular spots.

Intermission was next. I ran into John Cena's father during the break in the floor of the arena. He was posing for pictures and signing autographs. Wasn't surprised to see him being that we're only 30 minutes from Boston.

Nikki Bella defeated Tamina in a stiff match to retain the Diva's Championship. Tamina was really laying it into Nikki for most of the match and the champ took everything she had. Nikki scored the victory with a roll up. Lazy booking to have two roll up finishes on the night.

The New Day defeated Tyson Kidd and Cesaro in a WWE tag team title match. Big E and Xavier Woods worked the match with Kofi on the outside. Man were Cesaro and Kidd over with the crowd! Cesaro is freakishly strong and never ceases to amaze me when throws Big E around like its nothing. The ref ended up distracted and Kingston hit Trouble in Paradise on Kidd. Woods got the cover. Kidd launched himself on top of all three New Day members after the match and then Cesaro put Woods in the big swing. Big E carried Kofi and Woods out of the arena on each shoulder.

They showed a quick video package of Owens confronting Cena from Raw while they lowered the steel cage into place.

John Cena defeated Rusev inside a steel cage to retain the United States championship by escaping over the top of the cage. Nothing really exciting in this match from Rusev and Cena. But the crowd did get what they wanted when Lana made an appearance during the match. She stoop at ringside watching the match for a few minutes. Rusev yelled for her to leave but she refused. When Cena made a run for the door, Lana shoved the referee down and slammed the door in Cena's face. She smiled and then left the arena. Cena made his comeback though and as Rusev was trying to get out of the door, Cena climbed the cage, kicked the door shut in Rusev's face and hit the floor to win the match.

Overall I'd give the show a grade of B-. No mention on a definite return date to the Verizon Wireless Arena.

Most Heat:

3. Barrett
2. Rusev
1. New Day

Biggest Pops:

3. Cesaro
2. Ambrose
1. Cena
