Bret Hart Talks About WWE's Owen Hart DVD, Martha Hart Trying To Erase What Owen Did In Wrestling
- We've noted how WWE is working on a DVD and Blu-ray titled "Owen Hart: Hart of Gold" to be released in November. WrestlingDVDNews.com reports that Bret Hart recently discussed the DVD on Jim Ross' Ross Report podcast and confirmed the DVD to be in the works but said he has not been interviewed by WWE for it yet. JR also has not been interviewed yet but Bret suggested that other Hart family members would be interviewed soon.
It was reiterated that Owen's widow Martha Hart and their children are not happy with the project and are not attached to it in any way. However, most other members of the Hart family are supporting it. Bret said he believes Martha is on the "wrong track" with her approach to the situation. He believes she wishes to erase everything Owen did in wrestling in a "childish" and "selfish" manner.
Martha recently released a statement on the DVD ans asked WWE to let Owen just rest in peace. Bret responded to that comment and said a lot of people miss Owen and would love to remember him fondly with the DVD. Bret said:
"I think it's important to remember what Owen accomplished in wrestling and I disagree with her position about Owen. There are so many happy memories tied in with Owen and I wish his kids could hear the stories."
