Ronda Rousey Trailer Released, UFC Releases Statement On Jose Aldo Drug Test, Fighters Do Powerbomb
- We're about a month and a half away from Ronda Rousey's next title defense at UFC 190. The promote the event, UFC released an acclaimed new video trailer. Rousey will be facing unbeaten Bethe Correia at the event, which takes place in Brazil. You can see the trailer above.
- The UFC released a statement on their Portuguese-language website this week regarding the Jose Aldo drug test error that we reported last week. The company said the following:
"The UFC has learned about the out-of-competition test, originally scheduled for Thursday, June 11, with Jose Aldo, by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Aldo has always been an exemplary athlete and a great champion for the UFC, and has proved it all this time. We affirm with authority that Aldo was made available to the test when requested by the Nevada Commission.
Andre Pederneiras, the champion's manager and coach, then received the tester in his gym in Rio de Janeiro, on Friday, when the test was officially done.
The UFC declares unconditional support to featherweight champion Jose Aldo and reiterates its admiration for the Nevada Commission, for wanting to ensure a clean competition between athletes."
- A couple of Ronda Rousey's training partners, UFC fighter Jessamyn Duke and UFC veteran Shayna Baszler had some fun during practice this week, as the two worked a powerbomb into their practice sessions, which Jessamyn Duke posted on her Sqor page and Instagram. The two were in attendance at last year's Summerslam and this year's WrestleMania, and have also shown up at several PWG events. You can see video of the powerbomb below.
