Shelton Benjamin Apologizes To WWE Star

We recently noted that on Sheamus' guest appearance on Talk is Jericho, he mentioned that during his feud with Shelton Benjamin in 2009, that he was repeatedly called "rookie" by Shelton. This weekend, Shelton took to Twitter to apologize to the former WWE Champion about it, although he said he didn't recall.

"I've got no problem with Shelton, he's an amazing athlete. But every time we were sitting down he was calling me rookie. I don't know what it was. I'd never been anything but nice to him and I just wanted to make the feud good," Sheamus said during the podcast.

Sheamus later said that shortly after his feud with Shelton concluded he was moved to Raw, where he won the WWE Title from John Cena. Sheamus said that he felt validated with that win, and felt like he proved a point.

"If in fact I offended you by repeatedly calling rookie, please accept my sincerest apology. But I personally don't recall," Shelton Benjamin said in the tweet, which you can see below. Sheamus has not publicly responded to the apology.
