Brutus Beefcake Talks Being Promised The WWE IC Title Three Times But Never Winning It

As noted, Wrestling Inc. correspondent Scott H recently attended the London Comic-Con. At the event, Scott spoke to Brutus Beefcake, who talked about never winning the Intercontinental Championship, despite being told that he would several times.

Beefcake noted that there were three times in his career that it was supposed to happen, but it never happened once. He was going to win the title, but management decided to put it on the Honky Tonk Man. He was told that Honky would have a long run and that then when it was time, he would beat him, and the title change would mean more. When the time came at SummerSlam in 1988, he was told that the Ultimate Warrior was going to be the man and it was his time.

Beefcake said that Rick Rude jumped ahead of him and was given his time with the title. He then said that finally at SummerSlam 1990 he was going to win the strap, but it didn't happen as he got injured in the parasailing accident that nearly cost him his career.
