Ronda Rousey Gets New Opponent For UFC 195, Rousey And Donald Trump Disagree On Her Support For Him

For the several weeks, the UFC's very public plan was a trilogy fight between Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate. That plan has already changed.

Rousey appeared on Good Morning America Friday and announced her next fight, which will be against Holly Holm at UFC 195 on January 2.

"January 2 I'll be fighting Holly Holm, who's the most decorated striker we have in all of mixed martial arts," Rousey said on Friday morning. "Not the women's division, not the bantamweight division. (Holm)'s a 19-time boxing champion Holly Holm was The Ring magazine pound-for-pound Fighter of the Year, and definitely my biggest challenge to date."

Rousey will look to defend her Women's Bantamweight Championship for a sixth time in the UFC, and a seventh time total. A third fight with Miesha Tate and a potential superfight with Cris Cyborg have been discussed, but the UFC ultimately landed on the undefeated Holm.

Holm, a former standout boxer, went 30-2-3 in the sport and was nominated for an ESPY before switching to MMA. In her first four years in the sport, she's earned a 9-0 record with two wins coming in the UFC. She also trains at Jackson Submission Fighting with the likes of Jon Jones and Donald Cerrone.

Rousey's fight with Holm isn't the only thing to grab attention today, as the PPV juggernaut shut down Donald Trump's recent support of her. Trump cited Rousey as an example of a woman who likes him.

"I mean, I wouldn't vote for him," Rousey said to CNN recently. "I just really wouldn't trust the guy with running my country, that's all. I'm not really going to get into specifics of it, but, I mean, I don't want a reality TV star to be running my country."

It's worth noting that Trump made his comments about Rousey 'liking him' after Rousey's comments to the contrary.
