Steve Austin On What It Would Take To Return To The Ring
As noted, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier recently appeared on The Steve Austin Show – Unleashed!. During the podcast, Austin and Cormier discussed several professional wrestling topics including what it would take for Austin to make a return to the squared circle for one last match.
Austin noted that he would need a three or four month camp to prepare for a return to the ring. He indicated that he will not be wrestling at WrestleMania 32 because of the extensive training that would be required to get into ring shape.
"When people always ask me, 'hey, would you have one more match at WrestleMania 32?' No, I'm not, but I always tell people, but here's the thing: I had a gutful – I had a good time, but what it would really take to perform at WrestleMania 32 for anybody who has been out of the ring, especially for as long as I have, you know, 12 or 13 years, you would have to go through a damn near full shoot MMA camp," Austin said.
In addition to covering many professional wrestling topics during the interview, Austin and Cormier talked at length about the world of MMA. If you would like to hear the rest of the podcast, click here.
