UFC Fight Night Nashville Results: OSP Vs. Glover Teixeira, Big Women's Fight, Nine Ranked Fighters

UFC Fight Night Nashville has come and gone, and the UFC puts in the books yet another event in a seemingly endless summer of fights.

Light heavyweights Ovince St. Preux and Glover Teixeira headlined the show, with OSP being a hometown guy. The first round was fast and furious, back and forth. OSP survived a choke attempt and mounted offense from Glover, while Glover survived a flurry of strikes and a huge body kick from St. Preux. The second round was a more dominant one for Teixeira, relying on his takedown to control OSP. Eventually Teixeira put the hometown boy to sleep with a rear-naked choke, and showed ultimate class in his concern for his opponent.

Amanda Nunes earned the biggest win of her career, defeating Olympic silver medalist and former UFC title challenger Sara McMann. Nunes controlled the fight from the jump with her aggressive striking. Nunes eventually clipped McMann, sending her to the ground. Nunes pounced, and earned a rear-naked choke submission victory. Nunes has now won four of her last five UFC fights, and is an interesting contender in the division

Beneil Dariush also scored a victory, albeit controversially. #5-ranked Michael Johnson had a serious claim to winning all three rounds, but when the scorecards were read, Dariush somehow won split decision. The third round was close, however, and many scored it for Dariush. The call infuriated the crowd, and was called by many the worst UFC decision in all of 2015.

Ranked fighters Dustin Ortiz, Frankie Saenz, and Derek Brunson all earned victories, as did TUF veteran Uriah Hall.
