WWE Live Event Results From Detroit (8/15): Sheamus Tries To Cash In, Chris Jericho, Divas, More
- Thanks to Omar Siad for the following WWE live event results from Saturday's show in Detroit, Michigan:
* Eden announced John Cena wouldn't be here due to his broken nose and our came Kevin Owens to rag on Cena. Chris Jericho interrupted to set up a match.
* Chris Jericho defeated Kevin Owen in an exciting back & forth bout. Jericho countered a pop-up powerbomb with a Codebreaker for the win. Match of the night I thought.
* Sheamus defeated Fandango in a quick match with the Brogue Kick. He cut a promo after the match and teased cashing in Money In the Bank later.
* Curtis Axel, Damien Sandow and Zack Ryder defeated Bo Dallas and Los Matadores when Ryder hit a Ruff Ryder on one of the Los Matadores. Lots of comedy here and nothing special.
* Neville defeated Stardust in another good even match-up. Neville won with the always impressive Red Arrow.
* The Prime Time Players retained the WWE Tag Team Titles over The New Day when Kofi Kingston took a Clash of The Titus from Titus O'Neil. They brought some kids to the ring to do the PTP dance after the match.
* Paige and Charlotte defeated Alicia Fox and Brie Bella when Alicia tapped to the Figure Eight. Fans voted on this to be a tag match over a singles match.
* Cesaro defeated Rusev in one of the best matches of the evening, probably third best. Lana ran down at the end of the match and attacked Summer Rae, allowing Cesaro to roll up a distracted Rusev for the win.
* Seth Rollins retained the WWE World Heavyweight Title over Dean Ambrose in a Street Fight. This was the second best match next to Jericho and Owens. Rollins put Ambrose through a table in the corner early on and Ambrose later elbowed Rollins through another table. Sheamus ran down to break up a pin by Ambrose and pulled him to the floor. Sheamus teased cashing in but Ambrose blocked a Brogue Kick on Rollins by knocking Sheamus out of the ring. Rollins ended up hitting a Pedigree on Ambrose for the win. Sheamus ran back in to attack Ambrose while Rollins retreated but Ambrose got the upperhand and closed the show.
