WWE Monday Night RAW To Be Postponed Again Due To Storm? Arena Issues Statement

For the second time in a year, WWE Monday Night RAW is in danger of being postponed.

Monday's episode is scheduled to take place at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL. Tropical Storm Erika, which devastated the Caribbean island of Dominica yesterday, is expected to hit Tampa on Monday afternoon. Florida Governor Rick Scott issued a state of emergency, saying that Erika posed a "severe threat to the entire state." The storm is weakening, and could be downgraded to a tropical depression by Saturday.

The Amalie Arena issued the following statement on their Facebook and Twitter accounts:

Amalie Arena and our partners at WWE are aware of Tropical Storm Erika's potential impact to our area in advance of WWE Raw on Monday, August 31. At this time, the event is not cancelled.

However, we are keeping the storm top of mind. Any updates to this information will be made here and on amaliearena.com.

Earlier this year, the post-Royal Rumble RAW in Hartford, CT was postponed, and instead highlights of the Rumble were shown with live interviews from WWE studios in Stamford cut in. The following night's SmackDown in Boston ended up being cancelled, and instead the show emanated live that Thursday from Hartford.

We'll keep you posted if there are any updates.
