Alberto El Patron Denies Reports, Kurt Angle News, Top Independent Wrestler Announces Retirement

- Apparently there were reports online claiming that Alberto El Patron has been confirmed for the second season of Lucha Underground, which was announced earlier this week. El Patron responded to the reports on Twitter, writing, "Exclusive: not confirmed"

I spoke to El Patron last week, who then said that he did not know if he would be a part of the second season before the announcement was made.

"I don't know if I'm going to be a part of it," El Patron said. "They said they were going to start in the Summer, then June, then August, now I think they say December. I don't know what's going on over there. I have to talk to the people in charge, and I will be talking to them this week. We'll see what happens."

El Patron also discussed why he chose Lucha Underground over TNA, Triple H taking over from Vince McMahon, WWE firing the employee that he slapped, if WWE changing their schedule would improve morale and more. You can read the full interview by clicking here.

- British independent wrestler Kris Travis announced on Twitter this week that he is retiring from professional wrestling. Travis was in the finals of TNA British Boot Camp 2, but was forced to withdraw after he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He defeated cancer and returned to the ring last month.
