Ronda Rousey Talks Selling "WrestleMania" Fight, Fedor's Return, Paige VanZant Headlining UFC Card

- UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey recently appeared on UFC Tonight, which you can watch in the video above. During the interview, Rousey talked about how she found out she would be fighting Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November instead of her originally scheduled opponent, Miesha Tate.

"From a phone call from Dana White, always," Rousey said. "It's like getting called to the principal's office. He asks me and I'm always 'Yes.' I'm ready to fight any day. They've done so much for me, I'm there for them."

Rousey also talked about facing Holm at Etihad Stadium in Australia, which can hold 56,000 fans.

"I thought - that's as big as a whole WrestleMania," Rousey said. "I'll have to sell it all by myself. That's a tall order. It's great that the UFC has confidence we can set the record. It's a testament to how far women's MMA has come. It's going to be great to set the record."

- The UFC also announced that Paige VanZant will face Scottish striker Joanne Calderwood in the main event of a UFC Fight Night event on Thursday, December 10 that will air live on UFC Fight Pass.

- As noted, Fedor Emelianenko will return to the ring to fight on New Year's Eve in Tokyo, Japan, which will air on Spike TV. Spike TV sent us the following regarding the return of Fedor Emelianenko:

Spike TV will celebrate New Year's Eve with an MMA mega-event featuring mixed martial arts worldwide legend Fedor Emelianenko.

Emanating from Tokyo, Japan, the event marks the debut of a new global MMA promotion run by former Pride President Nobuyuki Sakakibara.

Bellator will partner with Mr. Sakakibara on the MMA extravaganza and will have fighters from its roster participating. The event will be broadcast to Spike's 93 million homes in the United States.

Fedor's opponent and further details on the event will be announced at a later date.

"We are thrilled to join forces with Nobuyuki Sakakibara and our partner Bellator President Scott Coker to give MMA fans a big reason to celebrate this New Year's Eve - Fedor fighting FREE on Spike!" said Kevin Kay, Spike President.

Fedor last fought in June, 2012 and scored a first round KO over Pedro Rizzo. The Russian MMA superstar will look to repeat history on Dec 31 in Tokyo. In 2011, on New Year's Eve, Fedor thrilled the Tokyo crowd with a punishing first round KO over Satoshi Ishii.
