WWE's First Batch Of Owen Hart DVD & Blu-Ray Extras Revealed

WrestlingDVDNetwork.com is posting partial lists of extras for the upcoming "Owen: Hart of Gold" DVD/Blu-Ray set each day this week, and today, they began by reporting the inclusion of the following matches

* The Blue Blazer vs. Mr. Perfect (Brendan Byrne Arena at the Meadowlands – May 8, 1989)

The had various matches on house shows, with a few airing (including one in Milan, Italy), as well as a bout at WrestleMania V. This one aired on the MSG Network in the New York market because Madison Square Garden itself was undergoing renovations and thus there could be no monthly MSG house show broadcast.

* Owen Hart vs. Mark Kyle (World Championship Wrestling – March 16, 1991)

This is one of Owen's few televised WCW matches. He lasted about a month, and while all of his TV matches were squashes, he and Brian Pillman did get non-title wins over WCW Tag Team Champions The Fabulous Freebirds at house shows. If they were going to include a WCW television match, the best one was against Rip Rogers on Power Hour.

* Shawn Michaels (c) vs. Owen hart for the WWF Intercontinental Championship (Wrestling Spotlight – August 28, 1993)

This is an interesting oddity, being that C-show matches from this era are largely forgotten. Its most likely the same match that aired on All-American Wrestling on August 8th (tap July 25th in Alexandria Bay, NY).

* Owen Hart vs. Nick Barberri in an exhibition match (WrestleMania XI Public Workout; Times Square, NYC – March 28, 1995)

This has never aired on television or been released before. The public workout was an event built around pushing the Lawrence Taylor-Bam Bam Bigelow issue for WrestleMania. This is most likely an example of Owen being funny in an interesting setting.
