Updates On GFW AMPED Television Deal, Front-Runner For First World Champion, GFW UK, More

Global Force Wrestling will be running their final GFW AMPED television taping left on the schedule this Friday, at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The promotion sent out a press release earlier today announcing a meet-and-greet prior to the show, with those in attendance receiving a poster for autographs, a commemorative lanyard, a Pepsi or Budweiser, and early access to the merchandise stand.

The first set of GFW champions (world, tag team and NEX GEN) will be crowned at Friday's taping event, and we will have full spoiler-filled results as soon as they become available.

While a television deal has still not been announced, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the promotion may still be closer to striking a deal in the UK than they are in the US at this point. There were even reports last month that Jeff Jarrett had already negotiated a deal, although said reports seem to have been a bit premature. Taking that into consideration, former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis (Magnus) is the logical front-runner to be crowned GFW Champion.

The promotion is actually headed to the UK next week for a set of live events. Advertised to appear is Aldis and fiance Mickie James, Jeff and Karen Jarrett, Doug Williams and Marty Scurll.
