Vince Russo On How To Get Roman Reigns Over, Vince McMahon's Stubbornness Hurting Reigns, More

Recently on the Wrestling Inc. Podcast, new co-host Vince Russo shared his thoughts on how WWE can get Roman Reigns over. According to Russo, the easiest way to get Reigns over is by letting him go off script and turn him heel.

"I would have him go out there, cut a promo just like he was going to cut tonight [on Monday Night RAW] and tell him, 'Roman, if the crowd starts getting hostile, tell them how you really feel.' Don't script him, just let him go and immediately you got the guy over as a heel. Now you got [Dean] Ambrose confronting him, 'what the hell are you doing? What's going on?' and then Reigns saying, 'I'm sick of it! I'm sick of going out there every week and listening to these people.'"

Russo's idea for turning Reigns comes off of the heels of an episode of RAW where Reigns was asked to go out of his depth by cutting a long promo in front of the notoriously hostile Chicago crowd.

"He acknowledged the crowd twice. He acknowledged the 'what?' chants and then he acknowledged the 'boring!' chants. If I was back there writing, I would instruct Roman that, 'you know what, bro? The next time you go out to a hostile crowd and you get a response like that, guess what? You have free reign to tell the crowd how you really feel.' I'm telling you, that would get the guy over immediately." Russo continued, "if the crowd is going to give him a hard time, they need him to go out and say, 'you know what? Screw you! Get in here and try this. Lets see how you do! As a matter of fact, come in here right now.' I mean, that's what they need to do with the guy!"

Russo claimed that this idea could have been adopted at the Royal Rumble. When the crowd started booing Reigns after winning the over-the-top-rope battle royal, Reigns could have been instructed to start flipping off the crowd.

"But they keep trying this force feed, and this force feed, and this force feed, and it has not worked! They need to just go with it!" Russo added, "it's so tailor made, but that's how Vince [McMahon] is. If Vince wants this guy to be a babyface, by God, he's going to be a babyface, but I just think it's a different time now. I don't think it's so easy."

Also on the show, Russo, Sean Ross Sapp and WrestlingINC.com owner Raj Giri discussed this past Monday's RAW, how Kurt Angle could have gotten Rusev to the next level, a possible Randy Orton / Dean Ambrose feud and more.
