Young Bucks Tease Signing With Major Wrestling Promotion

Matt Jackson of The Young Bucks teased tonight that he and his brother Nick Jackson have finally signed with a major wrestling promotion.

Just moments ago, Matt tweeted out the seemingly cryptic "young bucks wwe nxt LU roh tna njpw", and then seconds later added, "we signed with one of them." This was in response to a tweet sent out earlier in the night by Major League Wrestling, which simply read "Young Bucks #LuchaUnderground".

Perhaps less cryptically, Nick tweeted out "very happy and excited for our future. The deal is done and things should be announced very soon!" earlier tonight, which got the hype train started.

Matt (30) and Nick (26) have made quite a name for themselves over the past few years, becoming two of the biggest names on the independent scene and all around the world. In late 2014 and again earlier this year there were endless rumors that virtually every major promotion from Ring of Honor to WWE to TNA was looking to lock down the Bucks with an exclusive contract, but it seems no one could make the duo an offer that was "sweet" enough to give up their lucrative free agent status.

The Bucks are three-time IWGP junior tag team champions, four-time PWG champions, former Ring of Honor tag team champions, and have won gold with virtually every relevant independent promotion in North America, including Dragon Gate USA.

It's worth noting that Lucha Underground likely found itself with a fair amount of room in the budget after Alberto Del Rio (who had to be considered a "lock" for season two) made his return to the WWE at this weekend's Hell in a Cell PPV. While all this is still very much unconfirmed, a deal with the promotion would likely allow them to continue working non-televised independent appearances, and possibly open the doors to work more extensively in Mexico.

We'll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
