Backstage Note On John Cena, WWE Hiring A New NXT Marketing Manager And More, Xavier Woods

- There has been speculation online that WWE officials may try and bring John Cena back early due to the injury to Seth Rollins. According to a WWE source, there were no plans to bring Cena back early, as of today, and his hiatus will likely not be changed.

- WWE is now hiring for a Marketing Manager to help with the NXT brand, based out of Atlanta, Georgia. The job listing reads like this:

The WWE Live Event Marketing Team is currently seeking an individual for the position of Live Event NXT Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will develop and execute marketing/promotional plans for assigned NXT Live Events including NXT tapings at Full Sail Live as well as NXT Live Shows. He/she will also be responsible for directly managing all aspects of marketing, sales, and public relations for approximately 100 events annually. The candidate will provide strategic management and continuity between events and markets in the region both in scheduling and marketing. The position will primarily lead or assist in the creation and coordination of advertising, promotional and special event activities that create an exciting and entertaining atmosphere for NXT Live events.

They are also hiring a new Social Media Producer to work out of headquarters in Stamford, CT. The description reads like this and appears dated as they still refer to Tout:

The Social Media Producer will work directly with WWE road crews and event producers to moderate social media content at Live Events both domestically and internationally, in an effort to enrich the in-arena fan experience. In addition, the Social Media Producer will work with WWE and NXT Superstars to create social media content, including text, photo and video, for more than 300 Live Events per year, and assist the Superstars with various facets of managing their social presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Vine, TOUT and more. The successful candidate will have a strong marketing/branding sense and be proficient with all current social media platforms. Previous experience covering and/or working at live sports or entertainment events is preferred.

Finally, WWE is also looking for a new Director of Live Event Operations. The job description reads like this:

Reporting directly to the VP of New Business Development, this position will be a key partner and liaison across ALL Live Events staff and track and support all of the operational activities and projects for the Live Events Team. He/she will display an in-depth knowledge of markets in each region. He/she will be responsible for directly managing all projects, new business development programs, group sales, all aspects of marketing creative, public relations materials for approximately 330 events annually. The candidate will provide strategic management and continuity between events, markets and regions.
