Jim Ross Talks About Batista's Last WWE Run, Booking Idea For Batista And Brock Lesnar

Recently on the Ross Report, the legendary professional wrestling announcer, Jim Ross, spoke about Batista, also known as Dave Bautista. Ross talked about Batista's most recent run with WWE and he suggested a Batista vs. Brock Lesnar main event bout for WrestleMania 32.

As previously reported here at WrestlingINC.com (https://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2015/1102/603351/batista-on-if-he-would-return-to-wwe/), Batista admitted to butting heads with WWE during his most recent run with the company, as he wanted to return as a heel and the company thought differently. Ross weighed in on the news, stating that WWE should always try to accommodate talent and trust the talent's instincts.

"The first thing you learn in booking or creative is to understand your talent and when they're telling you something from their heart and from their gut, you should listen and try to acquiesce. Now, having said that, maybe all those things are done. Maybe [WWE] did listen. Maybe they did try to acquiesce; however, it couldn't get done. They couldn't seal the deal and Dave came back [inauspiciously] in that babyface type [of] role that didn't fit him. It didn't work. It didn't do him any favors."

Despite the conflict between Batista and WWE, Ross admitted that he would be shocked if 'the Animal' did not return to WWE. Ross went on to suggest a possible Batista vs. Brock Lesnar main event match for WrestleMania 32.

"Hey, I got an idea for you: what about Batista, the heel, coming back and taking on Brock Lesnar, the babyface, at WrestleMania [32] in April [2016] in Dallas [Texas]?" Ross continued, "I could live with that main event, a red hot Batista coming back and urinating all over the fans and being a big star and being very arrogant and full of himself and being a bad ass, believing his [newspaper] clippings and he wants to take on the biggest dog in the yard. I don't dislike that match."

During this episode of the Ross Report, J.R. also spoke with the second longest reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion of all time, Bob Backlund. Click here (https://www.podcastone.com/The-Ross-Report) to check out the entire show.
