AJ Styles Pulled From New Japan Pro Wrestling Tour, Latest On His Injury

It appears as if former IWGP, NWA and TNA champion AJ Styles' back injury isn't getting any better, as Styles was removed from New Japan Pro Wrestling's tour this weekend, which hosted the World Tag League.

Styles is suffering from a herniated disk in his back, which also kept him from appearing on a recent set of Ring of Honor tapings. He noted that he'd be back in time to take on World Champion Jay Lethal at Final Battle.

Styles had been making an attempt to rehabilitate the injury in Japan, thinking that his injury was a day-to-day situation. Styles is now back home.

Because Styles is injured, all of his remaining matches in the New Japan World Tag League tournament will be forfeits. His partner in the tourney was fellow Bullet Club member Takahashi.

It's unknown as to whether or not Styles will be able to work his match next week with Final Battle, or if Ring of Honor has a backup plan in order. Styles is also set to take on Shinsuke Nakamura at Wrestle Kingdom 10.
