Forbes On Roman Reigns Not Working As Face Of WWE, WWE Lists Steve Austin As Retired, WWE In Tupelo

- WWE.com posted a playlist of stars in their retirement matches. The playlist got some media this week because it features Steve Austin. Austin has often maintained that his match with The Rock at WrestleMania 17 was his last, so I'm surprised the playlist got any attention. Other stars featuring in the playlist include Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, JBL, Layla and Michelle McCool.

- WWE will return to Tupelo, MS for a live event on Sunday, January 31st at the BancorpSouth Arena. Tickets go on sale this Friday at the Arena Box Office and Ticketmaster.

- Donald Wood has an article at Forbes about why Roman Reigns doesn't work as the face of the company moving forward, citing WWE's declining ratings. Here is part of what he wrote:

Winning the championship at Survivor Series?only to have it ripped away by The Authority-backed Sheamus?is almost identical to how the company booked the quintessential underdog Bryan at WrestleMania 30. With WWE trying to follow a similar pattern for Reigns, a portion of the WWE Universe is having trouble supporting a Superstar who is being positioned as the next Cena, while still being portrayed as Bryan.

It's hard to take Reigns serious as an underdog when he has a track record similar to the ultimate Superman, Cena. Since making his main roster debut in November 2012, Reigns has only lost 17 singles matches.
