Global Force Wrestling and former TNA talent Lei'D Tapa had her MMA debut this morning at the Rizin event in a losing effort against Brazilian jiu-jitsu juggernaut Gabi Garcia.
Garcia came in well above the speculated weight of 215 pounds, and has been the subject of PED rumors throughout her jiu-jitsu career. Tapa managed to rock Garcia early on with a big right hand, knocking the much larger opponent off of her feet. Tapa was not able to follow up.
Tapa, who has been training at American Top Team was eventually unable to handle the pressure from Garcia and was swarmed. After knocking Tapa to the mat, Garcia used short hammer fists to defeat Tapa inside the first round.
We'll have full results of Rizin up Thursday afternoon.
