Sean Waltman Talks About Triple H In The Early Days, Why They Wanted HHH In The Kliq

We now know Triple H as an authority figure for the WWE, but his first taste of power came in the mid 1990s as a member of the infamous backstage faction, the Kliq. Sean Waltman recently spoke to WrestleTalkTV and said the Kliq knew Triple H was destined for greatness.

"Obviously we didn't predict exactly what would (happen), but immediately it was like 'let's gobble him up.' He was riding with Killer Kowalski every night, who was his teacher. He was trying to be cool to Walter (Kowalski). We were like 'you gotta drop Walter, you're coming with us.' We needed a designated driver anyway," Waltman said.

Despite the obvious benefits of having a sober driver at their disposal, Waltman said that other qualities that Triple H possessed helped attract him to the group.

"Level headed, focused," Waltman explained. "His determination, drive. His learning curve, his aptitude. When he first got there, he was still the student, but the way he soaked up all the knowledge and got better, it was really light years ahead of how most people do it," Waltman said.
