- Good news for Nick Diaz, as his ridiculous five year suspension due to a failed marijuana test was reduced to 18 months by the Nevada Athletic Commission. Nick Diaz's original fine of $165,000 was reduced to $100,000, and Diaz could now fight by August. The commission's ruling of Diaz's third drug test failure offense was criticized heavily by fighters, fans and media.

Diaz failed a drug test in Nevada for the third time for marijuana following his UFC 183 loss to Anderson Silva. The NAC never filed a written decision to Nick Diaz's legal team, which led to the possibility for talks of a settlement.
