Conor McGregor - UFC 196 Update: Interim Title Possible, Jose Aldo Turns Down Rematch
News keeps rolling in today after UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael dos Anjos pulled out of his planned main event against Conor McGregor.
Several fighters have thrown their hats into the ring to face McGregor including Nate Diaz, Urijah Faber, Donald Cerrone, Khabib Nurmadomedov, Anthony "Showtime" Pettis, Chris Wade, Manny Gamburyan, Evan Dunham, Diego Sanchez and Tony Ferguson. As of now, it looks as if Cerrone and Nate Diaz are the best bets, as Donald Cerrone has retained the services of weight cut master Mike Dolce as of last night, according to Ariel Helwani.
Frank Edgar was approached about the fight, but has a groin injury and isn't able to fight. Former UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo was also approached, but rejected the fight, according to MMA Fighting. Last month, Aldo stated he'd fight McGregor "anytime, anywhere," even if not for a title.
