Ronda Rousey's Mom Trashes Daughter's Coach Again, Wants Rousey To Switch Camps, More
Ronda Rousey's former world champion mother Dr. AnnMaria DeMars has never made her feelings for her daughter's coach a secret. This week, DeMars doubled down on her opinion of Edmond Tarverdyan.
DeMars spoke to Submission Radio about Rousey's choice of coach, and the venom continued to flow. (Transcript courtesy of MMAFighting.com)
"I predicted it in advance," Demars said, talking of Rousey's KO loss to Holly Holm. "Ronda trained with an idiot. She trained with an idiot and a fraud. I would be shocked to find out that guy has any record at all. As far as I know, I saw him fight once and he fought somebody that had a record of like 6-20 and won on a split decision. The guy is a fraud. Ronda has a lot of talent. She came into that gym with a very strong background of training at the Olympic level and it carried her a long way."

DeMars said that Rousey desperately needs to get away from Edmond and switch camps, a sentiment that was echoed throughout the MMA community after the loss. No less than three UFC fighters left Glendale Fighting Club over the last year and a half.
"She needs to get away from some egomaniac fraud and be herself," De Mars said. "Ronda as herself can beat anybody on the planet. I'm sad about it but you become an adult and make decisions. Sometimes you make mistakes and hopefully you learn from them."
Rousey has been asked about her mother's comments in the past and said that they have some fundamental disagreements. Rousey also said that she isn't planning on leaving her coach, who has went through some financial and licensing issues of late, having to file for bankruptcy.
"If she changes gyms she could go dramatically further. Even if she was with a good coach I think going to a different place would really improve her. When you're with someone who wants to keep you from going to other places, that's a bad coach that doesn't have your best interests at heart," DeMars said.
