WWE Interested In AAA Star, Update On WWE Network Series Focusing On Lighter Wrestlers, Attendance
- WWE officials are interested in signing Humberto Garza III, who wrestles as Garza Jr. in Mexico's AAA promotion. Humberto is the 23 year old nephew of the late Hector Garza, who was a familiar face to WCW fans. He is expected to be invited to a future WWE tryout camp.
- We noted earlier this month that WWE was working on plans for a 10-episode WWE Network series that would focus on wrestlers under 205 pounds, possibly in a tournament. One idea was to have "unknown" wrestlers that haven't been on WWE or NXT TV featured, and another idea was to mix top indie talents with WWE developmental talents. In an update, the project is moving forward and should be beginning soon as a schedule was recently sent out to members of WWE production. It looks like WWE really will be using indie talents for the project.
- Below are recent WWE attendance figures:
* February 4th in Memphis for NXT drew a sellout of 850 fans
* February 5th in Nashville for NXT drew 1,100 fans
* February 5th in Calgary drew 4,000 fans (Dean Ambrose crew)
* February 6th in Indianapolis for NXT drew a sellout of 1,400 fans
* February 6th in Bartow, FL for NXT drew a sellout of 150 fans
* February 6th in Penticton, BC drew 2,500 fans (Ambrose crew)
* February 6th in San Jose, CA drew 6,800 fans (Roman Reigns crew, Brock Lesnar)
* February 7th in Abbotsford, BC drew 4,500 fans (Reigns crew)
* February 8th in Seattle for RAW drew 10,000 fans
