WWE Officials Want Retired Hall Of Famer To Have Significant Role At WrestleMania 32
- As noted last month via Ric Flair on his podcast, Vince McMahon reportedly tried getting WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels to come out of retirement and work the 30-man Royal Rumble main event.
While Shawn turned down the Rumble offer, the company still wants him to have a role at WrestleMania 32. WWE officials are said to be very interested in getting Michaels to be a major player at WrestleMania in his home state of Texas.
This has not been reported and is pure speculation but it seems like a possible role for Shawn could be special referee for Roman Reigns vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H, as an actual match is very unlikely. We noted before that WWE officials wanted Batista to appear as special referee but he turned the offer down. Shawn has acted as special referee twice in recent years – for Triple H vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania 28 in 2012 and for Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan at Hell In a Cell 2013.
