The Rock Sued For $200 Million, Mick Foley On What Helped Lead To His Stand-Up Career
- We noted back in December that The Rock and Mark Wahlberg were being sued for their hit show, Ballers. Everette Silas and Sherri Littleton filed the suit claiming that the idea lifts elements from a project they had titled "Off Season" in 2007. They allege that HBO had access to copies of their screenplay. According to The Wrap, an amended complaint filed in federal count in California this week has a $200 million amount for damages.
- The Indianapolis Star recently profiled WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, which you can read here. In the article, Foley discussed writing his "Have a Nice Day!" autobiography in 1999 and how it led to his stand-up career.
"When I started getting laughter from other wrestlers about that book, I realized it was like being in the ring without getting hurt," he says. "Writing was not only fun but liberating. It opened up so many doors, not only in terms of people accepting some out-of-the-box thinking, but me accepting that I could give anything a try. It didn't mean I would have success at it. But if I could do that by hand, I could try anything."
