Samoa Joe Makes History With WWE NXT Title Win, Video Of Victory, More Finn Balor Notes, Joe Tweets
- Finn Balor ended his WWE NXT Title run as the longest reigning champion in history with 292 days, breaking Neville's record of 287 days set in 2014.
As noted, Balor apparently legitimately injured himself in the match against Samoa Joe last night, after doing a corner dropkick, but he was seen walking fine on his own after the show, where he teased to fans that he will see them on Monday's RAW. Balor took a bow and "too sweeted" fans after the loss, then was helped to the back by officials. F4Wonline.com notes that Balor unlaced his boot while still in the ring, an indication that the injury could have been part of the match.
WWE cameras were filming last night's show, so we should see better footage of the title change on NXT TV.
