Aiden English Reveals When He Found Out About Main Roster Call Up; Talks His WWE Success, New Era

Recently, Planeta Wrestling caught up with Aiden English, one-half of the WWE tag team, The Vaudevillians. Among other things, English discussed when he got the news that he and tag team partner, Simon Gotch, would be headed to WWE's main roster, his early success on WWE's main roster, and his thoughts on WWE's 'New Era'.

According to English, he and Gotch were told that they were getting called up to the main roster at WrestleMania 32.

"We were actually told on the night of WrestleMania 32 in Dallas [Texas]. We were informed that we were going to be coming to [WWE Monday Night] RAW and [WWE] SmackDown and traveling with the main roster every week. So to be told that on the day of the biggest event of the year, and you're already there, you're excited just to see the show let alone be a part of that company, and then they tell you you're getting that big move in your career, I'll never forget where I was. I'll never forget how it felt and it was just [an] incredible sense of, I guess, accomplishment, of course, but in a weird way, a sense of relief and this idea of, like, it's validation of 'you're doing something right'. You're doing something the people want to see, that people want to be a part of, that people are enjoying, and want more of. So there's that sense of satisfaction of 'this is right' and 'this is going well' and I'll never forget how I felt that day."

'The Artiste' admitted that he did not anticipate his early success in WWE.

"To be fair, I never expected what [has] come my way in my life and my career, especially since joining the WWE a couple of years ago. This whole thing has been, I know it's a cliche, but it [has] been a whirlwind, especially the last two months." English added, "I couldn't be more excited, I couldn't be more happy, and I couldn't be more ready to be in that position."

As for WWE's new 'New Generation', English suggested that he is a fan of the 'New Era', largely because he is a part of it.

"Well, as part of the crop of NXT Superstars who have recently come up to the WWE, obviously, I'm a huge fan of all of us, but especially, The Vaudevillians. But I would say that the 'New Era' is just fine, but I tend to write it with a little bit of flair from the bygone era."
