Another Big UFC PPV Main Event Is Off

The injury bug continues to bite the UFC hard, as yet another pay-per-view main event has fallen through. Chris Weidman is injured and out of UFC 199, according to FloCombat.

Weidman was originally scheduled to re-match Luke Rockhold in just under three weeks at UFC 199 for the Middleweight Championship. The injury has yet to be specified, and there's no word on if the UFC will seek a replacement.

Options for the UFC could include Michael Bisping, who has shown a willingness to compete on short notice and in big fights. Also, Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza made short work of opponent Vitor Belfort last Saturday at UFC 198.

The main event of UFC 196 was changed when Nate Diaz replaced Rafael dos Anjos. A month later at UFC 197, Ovince Saint Preux served as a replacement for the injured Daniel Cormier in the main event of that show. Just last week, Anderson Silva was removed from UFC 198 and had to undergo surgery. The UFC also had to shift an entire event due to injuries sustained by Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum this year.

UFC 199 takes place June 4 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Wrestling Inc. will have full, live coverage of the event, which features Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber for the UFC Bantamweight Championship.
