NJPW On AXS Recap (5/27): 2015 G1 Climax, AJ Styles, Shibata, Tetsuya Naito, Bullet Club, Tanahashi

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s coverage of NJPW on AXS. Tonight's show kicks off the program's coverage of the 2015 G1 Climax Tournament!

Tetsuya Naito vs. Bad Luck Fale

Bad Luck Fale slowly, methodically beat the brakes off of Naito for a long, long time in this match. Bad Luck Fale controls most of the match, but Naito is able to counter a Bad Luck Fall with a sloppy looking roll-up to get the victory. Fale looked like he was hurting in this matchup, and it seemed to affect his performance.

Winner: Tetsuya Naito via pinfall

AJ Styles vs. Katsuyori Shibata

This match is worth going out of your way to see. Shibata had been battling an injury to one of his arms, but still worked through it by taking out his frustration on Styles with some really brutal kicks. Styles goes after the leg injury while selling that he was terrified of Shibata's kicks. Styles picked up the victory after countering the Penalty Kick and scoring the Bloody Sunday and Styles Clash.

Winner: AJ Styles via pinfall (Styles Clash)

Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kota Ibushi

Okay, this one is worth going out of your way to see too. Even better than the Styles vs. Shibata match. Tanahashi looked as good as he was looking in 2011-2012, and Ibushi was also unbelievable. Ibushi had some really great offense, and these guys went all out on the first night of the tournament. Hiroshi Tanahshi ended up getting the victory. This match is something you should probably watch immediately.

Winner: Hiroshi Tanahashi via pinfall

After the match Tanahashi said that Ibushi made him sure the future was bright. Little did he know that Ibushi wouldn't be around a few months later.
