WWE Smackdown Recap (5/12): Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, The Club, Bob Backlund, More

- Dean Ambrose comes out and says that wrestling is his life, unlike Chris Jericho. He says Jericho destroyed his famous plant, so he destroyed Jericho's famous jacket. The lights go out and Jericho attacks Ambrose and puts him in a straitjacket. Jericho pummels Ambrose and asks him to get crazy. Ambrose briefly fights back before walking into a Codebreaker.

Rusev (w/ Lana) vs. Sin Cara

Kalisto is on commentary again, and he's terrible again. Rusev is dominant early until Sin Cara comes back with kicks. Lana pours water on Kalisto, and then Rusev kicks him in the head. Rusev returns to the ring, kicks Sin Cara and submits him with The Accolade.

Winner: Rusev via submission (The Accolade)

- Dana Brooke introduces herself backstage, saying she's pretty and a bodybuilding champion. Dana says that while she and Emma were working hard, the fans rejected them and embraced Becky Lynch. She said that people won't be asking 'Who's Dana Brooke?' they'll be asking 'what ever happened to Becky Lynch?'

Becky Lynch vs. Dana Brooke (w/ Emma)

Dana Brooke comes right out of the gate angry and aggressive, dropping Lynch and hitting a handstand elbow drop. Dana applies a bow-and-arrow lock, but Becky Lynch works out of it and scores clotheslines and a leg lariat. Emma pokes Becky Lynch in the eye and Dana pins her for the win.

Winner: Dana Brooke via pinfall

- The New Day come out and say The Vaudevillains stuck their noses in New Day's Booty-O's. The Vaudevillains interrupt and make fun of New Day for being immature before singing and saying the night belongs to them.

Aiden English (w/ Simon Gotch) vs. Kofi Kingston (w/ New Day)

Kofi hits a dropkick immediately, but the action spills outside the ring and Aiden English runs Kingston into the ring post. English works Kingston over, but walks right into a pendulum kick. Kofi follows up with a single axe-handle and a big cross body press for two. Kofi gets some more offense including a Boom Drop, but Gotch and New Day are tossed from ringside for getting involved. Gotch pins Kofi and holds onto the rope for the win.

Winner: Aiden English via pinfall

- Roman Reigns and the Usos are backstage and Reigns says rules are rules and he's not allowed ringside tonight, but if Styles shows up, he'll be right behind him.

The Usos vs. The Club

The Usos corner Karl Anderson and start the attack, but he manages to hit a big calf kick. Jimmy Uso is put in The Club's corner and does his best to fight out, but Gallows pulls his hair, giving them the advantage. Gallows tags in and slams Jimmy Uso several times. Jimmy battles back and tags Jey in.

Jey comes in and dominates Luke Gallows before tossing him outside. Karl Anderson gets Samoan dropped, but tosses Jey Uso outside the ring where Gallows hits a big boot before a commercial break. We come back to see Anderson controlling Jey, knocking Jimmy off the apron. Jey finally clocks Gallows with a superkick and tags in Jimmy.

Jimmy Uso lands a kick to the body, an uppercut and a Samoan drop on Karl Anderson, then superkicks him off the ropes. A Superfly splash connects, but Gallows pulls him off and tosses Jimmy over the announce table for a DQ.

Winner: Usos via DQ

Everything breaks down after the match and Anderson hits Jey with a Rocket kick outside. Jey flies onto Anderson, but Gallows hits him with a chair. Anderson then clocks Jimmy with a steel chair, too.

- Bob Backlund asks Darren Young what time it is, and Darren Young looks on his phone. Backlund yells about Darren Young about wasting the operator's time. The joke is that Backlund doesn't understand smart phones and makes Darren Young do 200 squats.

Gorgeous Truth vs. Goldango

R-Truth won't fight Goldust, so Breeze pushes him down. Fandango also attacks Goldust, clotheslining him. Breeze pins Goldust.

Winners: Gorgeous Truth via pinfall

Fandango and Breeze jump the Golden Truth, and Goldust tries to protect Truth.

- Charlotte and Ric Flair are backstage and Charlotte says what happened Monday with Flair getting ejected was a travesty and disrespectful. Flair says even if he's not with Charlotte at Extreme Rules, he's there in spirit and she'll win.

Cesaro & Sami Zayn vs. The Miz (w/ Maryse) & Kevin Owens

Cesaro opens with a deadlift gutwrench suplex on Miz. Owens yells at Miz saying he can do better, but doesn't want to fight. Miz drops down as to not tag Owens, and Zayn takes advantage with heavy strikes in the corner. Miz tags in, but is quickly knocked outside the ring where he and Owens argue. Cesaro and Zayn both flip onto their opponents before our final commercial break of the show.

We return just in time to see Miz tumbling outside the ring. Zayn is confronted by Maryse, allowing Kevin Owens to attack from behind and The Miz to run Zayn into the barricade and the announce table. Miz stops Zayn's comeback attempt with a Reality Check, but Zayn still slugs him with a big clothesline. Zayn destroys Miz with a Blue Thunder Bomb and both men tag out to their partners.

Cesaro starts the Uppercut Express and follows with a dropkick. Cesaro uppercuts both Miz and Owens, then gets a two count on a cross body press to KO. Zayn accidentally catches Cesaro with a Helluva Kick, and Owens wins with a frog splash!

Winners: Kevin Owens & Miz via pinfall (Frog Splash)

KO catches Zayn with a Pop-Up Powerbomb after the match, but Miz sneaks up and takes Owens out with the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz stands tall to end the show.
